York, PA--in the heart of the picturesque Susquehanna Valley, where the gentle rolling hills and tranquil towns hold a rich cultural heritage brimming with a myriad of sights, sounds, and smells for the entire family. From September 1777 to June 1778, the town of York was the seat of the Continental Congress, and the home to a number of major historical events.

Right in our back yard biking, hiking, or picnicking can satisfy your family passion. Hooked on fishing? Enjoy our two well-stocked local lakes. When the nest empties, parent's weekends can be relaxing. Within a short time you can have the kids situated in the dorm of one of the two local colleges, and mom and dad can be nestled in comfort.

Our B&B is within minutes of downtown York. There you can explore all the historical buildings and museums. You can enjoy some of our restaurants along with our local theater. Our farmers markets are a menagerie of sounds and smells that are sure to delight our visitors.

Our great location has us within about fifteen minutes of our many fine-touring plants (ex. Harley- Davidson). If golf is your game, your definitely on the right course. Shop until you drop in our wonderful unique antique shops. Get on track on our old fashion train excursion. Locally grown grapes help our wineries flourish. Our spacious expo center allows for our special events to be exhibited.

Our great location is situated in the middle of some of the major tourist attractions in the mid-Atlantic region. We are within one hour of Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Hershey, Lancaster, and Baltimore Harbor. Philadelphia and Washington D.C., and Annapolis, MD are only a two hour drive. Travel the many areas of our local attractions for a few days, and then utilize our accommodations to explore our regions other major attractions.

What's The Weather Like ?

Winter: Winter tumbles into the area around Thanksgiving. Temperatures at this time are around 40 degrees during the day. During January and February the mercury plunges into the teens and single digits. If we are lucky the white stuff falls, and allows for our ski slopes to have natural snow. If nature does not cooperate, man made snow is available. Within an hour you can ski at one of our resorts. At this time of the year a heavy coat, scarf, hat, and gloves should be brought along.

Spring: From late March to June the temperatures range from the low 40's to the mid 70's. As our damp, chilly Match winds blow through, it brings our gentle April rain. April starts to warm during the day, but still remains chilly at night Our temperatures during the day are in the high 50's, but the warm sun with a gentle breeze gives us a breath fresh air. During this month be prepared with a raincoat and umbrella The rain won't stop you from touring the area but be prepared to keep yourself dry. March winds, April showers bring fourth May flowers. May to the middle of June is as agreeable as you could ever imagine. The days are full of blue skies, warm sunshine, and breezy nights. You probably won't need much more than a sweater or light jackets while visiting us during this time. Our temperatures are comfortable during this time.

Summer: Until our nations birthday (July 4th) our temperature remains quite comfortable. After the fireworks, the three H's set in (hazy, hot and humid). During July, August, and the beginning of September our mercury rises from 80 to 95 degrees. During this time light cotton clothing is beneficial. Our central air-conditioned bedrooms offer a relief from the heat of the day. Our screened in porch with a Casablanca fan helps circulate the hot air for your outdoor enjoyment. During the summer months comfortable attire is recommended.

Fall (Autumn): By mid September, our weather is beginning to cool off. Temperature range from the 60's to 70's during the day. Low 50's in the evening Autumn and the livin' is great. Autumn in York is the best of both worlds Clear blue skies, brisk breezes, and array of sunshine with chilly nights allows you to enjoy the natural beauty of our area. The bursts off magnificent color are breathtaking Day attire for pleasure long sleeves, shorts, socks, and sneakers. In the evening slacks, long sleeves with a warm cardigan are appropriate.
